Mental Health & Wellbeing

My name is Mrs. Rimmer, and I am the Mental Health Lead here at Marsden. My primary goal is to ensure that every member of our school community feels supported, heard, and empowered to manage their emotional wellbeing. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we are committed to providing a range of resources to help our students navigate the challenges they may face.
How we can help?
We offer a tiered approach to support, ensuring that learners receive the right level of care at the right time.
Our current provisions include:
* Individual Consultations: I am available for learners or parents to meet and discuss any
concerns in a confidential and supportive environment. This is often the first step in
identifying what kind of help might be needed.
* School Nursing Team: We work closely with our school nurses, who can provide
specialist advice on a variety of health and wellbeing issues.
* Freeflow Counselling: This service offers a dedicated space for learners to explore their
feelings with a trained professional in a relaxed & fun environment.
* External Referrals: When more specialised support is required, we facilitate referrals to
the NHS Mental Health Support Team (MHST) or other external agencies and healthcare providers.
Getting in touch:
If you have a concern about your own mental health or that of your child, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Early intervention makes a significant difference, and no concern is too small to share.
Please contact the school office on 01282 612769 if you wish to speak with myself or another member of the Inclusion Team.
Kind regards,
Charlotte Rimmer
