Children, Parents and Community Team

At Marsden Community Primary School we want to make sure that children are happy, secure and successful. Sometimes children or their families need extra help to make sure of this. There is a team of adults within school who organise and provide additional support for parents, carers and children, ensuring the best provision for all.

Our team are committed to providing the best care and support for all of our children and their families. If at any time you wish to speak to a member of the team and you are unsure of where to find us, please leave a message at the main office and we will make every effort to contact you on the same day.

Education and Parent Advisor

Charlotte Rimmer

I work within the Inclusion Team, supporting families with medical difficulties - this may be through referrals to the School Nursing Team or liaison with other medical professionals. I document medication kept in school and ensure staff are aware of medical needs within their class and across school. I provide information for both parents and learners to help improve their Mental Health. I also offer support to our families here at Marsden; providing parenting and financial advice during challenging times. I provide resources and assessment tools for adults working with EAL learners to help them tackle language barriers. I also work with small groups across school to help learners with their specific individual needs so they can perform to the best of their abilities.

Education and Parent Advisor

Christine Morris

My key role is to work with families to help overcome any barriers to children’s learning by providing a positive link between home and school. Together we provide information, help and support in areas such as special educational needs, health, parenting skills, mental health, drugs and alcohol as well as starting school or moving to secondary school. We work to enable you as parents to take an active role in your child’s social, emotional and educational development.

Parent Support Advisor

Shazia Butt

provides a range of support for our families including: benefit and welfare advice; information and guidance on a range of issues affecting family life; attending meetings with parents; expressing parent’s viewpoint and questions to the school. Mrs Butt also leads and facilitates our adult learning opportunities and parent workshops.

Appointments can be made via the school office or on 01282 612769.
